The heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry in Vietnam is entering a period of strong development. According to forecasts from BlueWeave Consulting, the industry's average profit margin will grow by about 5.25%, reaching a scale of more than one billion USD by 2029. However, this speed is creating challenges in the gap between technical capacity and the ability to understand real user needs.
In fact, as living standards improve, people increasingly pay attention to air quality, optimal humidity and comprehensive comfort experiences to protect long-term health. In parallel, sets of standards such as TCVN, LEED/EDGE green building or Net Zero roadmap have become inevitable requirements, not only ensuring operational efficiency but also demonstrating social responsibility and commitment to sustainable development of businesses.
Putting people at the center of its development strategy, Panasonic launched an 800 m2 HVAC Innovation Center in Thang Long industrial park (Hanoi), with a comprehensive approach from people to technology. This is the unit's first multi-function integrated HVAC model in Vietnam, combining technology display, product testing - development and in-depth training.
Instead of operating alone, the center is designed as a comprehensive experience ecosystem. Here, engineers and partners can directly access new HVAC technology in a practical application context. At the same time, they have the opportunity to verify and test the solution before applying it to the project, contributing to improving implementation efficiency and optimizing project quality. In addition, the HVAC Innovation Center also serves as a connecting space, promoting professional exchange between industry experts.
Talking about the new center, Mr. Otsuki Shinsuke, Managing Director of Panasonic Air-Conditioning Vietnam, emphasized: "We are committed to deploying the center with a functional level equivalent to the headquarters in Japan, ensuring quality and meeting the highest standards."
With a scale of 800 m2, the center has 6 separate functional areas: Experience Zone, Testing Zone, Conference Zone, Engineering Zone, IAQ Zone and Solution Zone. Each subdivision has its own role but is closely linked, forming a complete value chain from technology experience, practical testing to capacity training.
Business representatives repeatedly affirmed that the HVAC Innovation Center is an important link in realizing Panasonic's three strategic commitments in the Vietnamese market. The first focus is to create an educational foundation and train HVAC capacity for the next generation of young people. Many years ago, the unit promoted cooperation with universities, sponsored laboratories, and organized in-depth training programs to standardize processes for future engineers.
From an educational perspective, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Vice Principal of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology commented: "The new model helps narrow the gap between knowledge and actual implementation. Students and young engineers have the opportunity to observe and directly experience how an HVAC system operates in each specific context, instead of just learning theory."
